Cafe STORY debuts in Kolkata

Primarc Group in association with Penguin India launched a unique initiative to enhance booklovers' experience with the launch of Café STORY, at its flagship store at Elgin Road, Kolkata. The café will feature a huge collection of graphic novels, comic books and a well-stocked Penguin books section and board games. Items like writing pads and pens; sketch pads and pencils are also available and one may find easels with brushes and colours too and they can even buy a canvas to paint on.

Managed by the popular Chai Break chain, the cafe will offer an interesting mix of salads, pastas, sandwiches, falafels, risottos and more along with flavoured sodas, steaming and chilled tea and coffee.

Sidharth Pansari, Chief STORYteller, STORY and Managing Director, Primarc Group said, "STORY, in a short span of time, has become one of the most talked about leisure stores of the city. Café STORY is a unique association with Penguin whereby booklovers will have access to over 3000 titles as a light read over coffee. Penguin will work and provide un-released proof copies of books apart from rare editions from time to time. Café STORY shall become a destination where people will meet to write stories, read stories, tell stories and even paint stories.”

Pansari adds, "Our aim is to constantly innovate and gift something unique to the book lovers of the city. Thus, just like we named this venture'STORY' thinking that everything has a story, we decided to extend this concept further through the Cafe. In fact. in London there are many Author's Cafe where perhaps even authors come and write their stories here. This is the first graphics and comics Cafe in Kolkata with a great collection offered to the intellectual community. Penguin is the market leader in publishing and our objective is to serve something fresh and warm through the association with Chai Break. It is a complete new STORY that Primarc is trying to create. Since we launched the store, we are constantly adding new merchandise. The decor has a fresh and vibrant look and feel as well, which is going to attract people of all ages. So, it is going to be a great collaboration of books, intellectual discussions over food in the heart of the city."
