The brand’s biggest expansion has been in Haryana, followed by Jammu, Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.

Control Z, a renewed smartphone brand, has gone live across 100+ offline MBO retail stores, primarily in Delhi-NCR and Haryana, with a clear roadmap to scale to 1,000 MBO stores by the end of the next fiscal year. The expansion strengthens partnerships with organised smartphone chains and neighbourhood retailers, bringing structure and reliability to India’s fast-growing refurbished smartphone segment.
“Right now, our core focus remains scaling our retail presence through MBOs. We have found great success there because dealers are loving it,” says Yug Bhatia, Founder of Control Z. “We partner with the best retailer in each local market and enable them with quality supply.”
The major expansion of Control Z has happened in Haryana, followed by Jammu, Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan (up to Jaipur). The brand is now entering East India and the Northeast, with stores expected to go live shortly.
Instead of focusing on large malls or big-format chains, Control Z is partnering with multi-brand dealers in each micro-market, including Tier 3 and Tier 4 towns, and even smaller tehsils.
“In many of these markets, organised refurbished phones have never entered through MBOs in a structured way,” says Yug. “We are going to very small areas and giving this quality there. These dealers already have strong trust in their local markets.”
To further strengthen transparency in MBO environments, Control Z is introducing a tech-led “Saver Series.” Customers will be able to scan a QR code in-store and view detailed images of the exact device, including scratches and internal diagnostics, without opening sealed packaging. This technology, currently active online, will soon be extended across offline MBO placements.
