In an effort to contain the spread of COVID 19 through retail stores, Bengaluru based Dave.AI, a company focussing on artificial intelligence, has recently introduced ‘Appointment-Scheduler’. The tech solution enables the customers to fix an appointment with the stores.
The intelligent appointment scheduler from Dave.AI also comes with a contactless validator application for security guards & mall guards to keep track of the number of customers inside the store at a given time. This also helps stores manage ad-hoc queues better.
As retail spaces begin operations, India is learning to shop with the defined social distancing norms. Retailers are working overnight to adapt with limited resources and transforming their spaces to be socially distancing friendly. With people spending more time outside their homes again, there is a prevailing sense of fear to enter into crowded public spaces. To address these challenges, retailers are working with tech providers to create social distancing friendly spaces.
Speaking to Retail4Growth, Sriram PH, Co-Founder and CEO,Dave.AI said, “There will be a new norm of how customers will experience & purchase products. Our work in the past was more with offline brands; we are now working with them to enable business continuity. Having taken a platform approach from the start has helped us evolve quickly and add new features. We are in advanced discussions with more than 25 brands to enable their customers to pre-book store visits”.
Lifestyle brands though are rolling out virtual stores where customers can also discover products at the comfort of their homes before walking into a store. ICA Pidilite recently launched a virtual showcase of their premium wood coatings in a visualizer that serves as a virtual store for customers. Customers can visualize how a finish would look in concept rooms. Powered by an artificial intelligence personalization engine, the virtual store provides real-time recommendations to customers.
Speaking about the engagement an ICA Pidilite spokesperson said, ‘We have got a visualizer made by Dave.AI. Being in an industry where visualization really helps display the effects, ICA Pidilite has to portray a premium image. While this lockdown has impacted physical interactions with our clients, the visualizer has really helped in connecting with our clients remotely and carries out business interaction’.
In order to maintain social distancing, hypermarket chain Star Bazaar will be rolling out an intelligent appointment scheduler. This online queue management system is already available at select stores that essentially enable customers to pre-book a slot online for shopping at the store.
