Fabindia’s largest experience center shows, “in-store retail is still the dominant retail channel”

Fabindia has recently unveiled their largest Experience Center to date in India in Bengaluru’s Hebbal area, sprawled across 21,000 sq. ft. Designed by FRDC, the store has sustainability at the core of the design.

Fabindia has recently unveiled their largest Experience Center to date in India. Located in the Bengaluru’s Hebbal area, the 21,000 sq. ft. new store has been designed by Future Research Design Company (FRDC), and positioned as a state-of-the-art experience centre sprawled across three floors.

In a recent interview to Retail4Growth, Ajay Kapoor,  President - Retail, Fabindia Limited had said, “We are primarily looking at expansion in a very aggressive way and will be striving to add nearly 2 lakh plus square feet of retail space across the country.” The new Fabindia Experience Centre is in keeping with the brand plans and houses the largest home and lifestyle store format in the country, spread across 14000 sq. ft. with an experiential format and a complete product range of universal assemble-to-order beds, dining and wardrobe category that is spread across 7000 sq. Ft, says the company.

Sanjay Agarwal, Managing Director at Future Research Design Company (FRDC), says, speaking about the project, “Fabhome proposed a lifestyle driven large format home store. The design of the store is driven by the idea of ‘discovery’ and ‘curation’. Space was broken down into pockets of ‘inspirations’ where one could experience different aspects of home & furniture as they explore. The journey within the retail store is inspired from ‘home’. While one floor is curated with home ideas, the other floor acts like a ‘market place’ where one can pick things while strolling down different sections. With sustainability at the core of design, usage of materials has been devised accordingly.”
