India Retail Excellence Awards 2023 in Chennai honours industry achievers in TN

The Retailers Association of India (RAI) has announced that the ‘Chennai Retail Summit 2023’ culminated in a glittering award ceremony with the ‘India Retail Excellence Awards’ honouring exceptional achievers within the Retail Industry in Tamil Nadu. 

The IREA is an annual award function supported by the Retailers Association of India (RAI), which concludes the Chennai Retail Summit. The event is attended by the who’s who of the India Retail industry to celebrate exceptional work in retail. 

Speaking about the awards, Kumar Rajagopalan – Chief Executive Officer, Retailers Association of India (RAI), said, “In India, the retail sector finds itself witnessing the entry of fresh brands and formats while established ones undergo reinvention. The IREA awards aim to spotlight exceptional brands and bestow upon them the recognition they rightfully deserve. Some of these brands have acquired invaluable lessons that will undoubtedly aid them in crafting highly valuable brands in the times ahead.” 

Adding, Hitesh Bhatt, Director-Marketing & Communication, said, “Technology is playing a pivotal role, introducing intriguing elements that enable innovative business models, enhance efficiency, and redefine customer expectations and experiences. The entries received this year showcased the remarkable efforts underway, particularly with businesses introducing innovative concepts to the market. Through IREA, we are honouring retailers in various categories as a means of recognising and promoting the new ideas that are adding value to this dynamic sector.” 

India Retail Excellence Awards 2023 recognised established and emerging retailers’ achievers across all formats of retail such as Apparel & Lifestyle, Beauty & Wellness, Home Decor / Home Improvement, Department Store, Food & General Retail, Consumer Durables & IT (CDIT), Jewellery, Footwear, Mobile, Restaurant & QSR and Speciality Retail.

A jury panel comprising experts from the industry thoroughly evaluated the entries that were shortlisted by a reputed audit agency to select the winners.
