Kolkata witnesses the first edition of KNITCON

KNITCON 2015, the one-day conference organized first time by the Federation of Hosiery Manufacturers Association of India (FOHMA) in association with West Bengal Hosiery Association (WBHA) and Bengal Hosiery Manufacturers Association (BHMA) took place at The Oberoi Grand Hotel, Kolkata. The seminar aimed at understanding the advancements in knitting, processing and stitching in knitwear industry to develop the entire standard of the sector which will help the hosiery and innerwear retailing vertical of the country.

The areas which were covered in-depth during the four sessions included Fibre & Yarn, Knitting, Processing (including Dyeing & Finishing) and Garmenting (including Stitching & Finishing).

The conference served as a veritable platform for brand manufacturers, knitwear companies, machines makers, product developers, dealers, etc. who came together to learn from the presentations and deliberations at the conference. It saw representations from all renowned inner wear brands from Kolkata like Rupa & Co. Limited, Dollar Industries, Lux Industries Limited and such.

Speakers from Germany, Italy, Japan and Korea including entrepreneurs, professionals and industry experts from the Indian Textile & Clothing industry participated in this conference. Around 250 delegates belonging to the textile fraternity from all over India were present at the colloquium.
