Lady Baga opens in Delhi with its Goan themed decor

March 31, 2017

Olive Group comes up with its latest theme restaurant in Delhi by the name of Lady Baga, where its interiors are inspired by the hippie movement and vibrant character of Goa.

Lady Baga, a restro-pub from the renowned Olive Group operating around 10 restaurants in Indian metros, opens its door with a Goa-themed decor at Delhi’s Connaught Place.  The 2000-sq ft space’s visual experience has been designed by Sabina Singh with Clement De’ Sylva, as a throwback to another time and what the shacks used to be like. They have weaved together little strands of memories and stories to try to create a magical Goa moment for you. "Our beach shack has the feel of the 60s, of flower power and of the ecosystem that led the hippie movement. We blend all this with great food, mad drinks and a trippy vibe,” said Sabina Singh.

AD Singh, Owner of Olive Group, said, “Over the last couple of years I observed a few interesting things in the Indian market scene. One, as we anticipated, Indian products have come to the forefront with bars, pubs, gastropubs, gastrobars etc. We, as a company, have been in the forefront of that. This is a trend we are seeing not only in India but worldwide.  Olive Group has been part of the pioneers with SodaBottleOpenerWala. Though the cuisine and concept of the Irani cafe was not much known outside Bombay, the brand has been a huge success nationally and is growing rapidly. This inspired us to ideate and create a new experience like a Bombay Irani café that is fairly unique to India and we decided to recreate the unmatchable experience of a Goan beach shack. We envisioned it as bringing together the feel of free love, cheap beer, fresh air, rolling seas, unending beaches, Goan Sussegad with great music, amazing parties and good food.”
