The tech firm, which has already been in 2D virtual try-on, is slated to bring 3D technology in the portfolio to offer more recommendations on shapes and sizes of human bodies while trying merchandise

Bangalore-based augmented reality (AR) firm, Coitor, which already had introduced 2D virtual trial system for retail some years back, is planning to bring 3D technology in the same portfolio. The 2D technology has already been used by retailers like Chennai Silk and Palam Silk brand like 612 League and designer Anita Dongre for her eponymous label store in Mumbai.

Talking to Retail4growth, Mahendra Vellingiri, Co-founder, Coitor Tech, explained, “There has been already a buzz in e-commerce regarding virtual try-ons. The challenge was to create similar experience at brick-and-mortar retail stores. We have been in this technology for the last 4 years and have been constantly working on developing it further. Now we are close to bring 3D technology in virtual try-on to offer more recommendations on shapes and sizes of human bodies.”
