Sushant Dash to join as Tata Starbucks CEO as Navin Gurnaney decides to resign

Sushant Dash’s post will be effective from April 1, 2021 and will be taking over as CEO from Mat 1, 2021.


Tata Starbucks has assigned Sushant Dash as the new CEO effective from April 1, 2021 and will be taking over as CEO from Mat 1, 2021; while Navin Gurnaney will be stepping down from the post.

“Navin Gurnaney, CEO, has made the decision to pursue an opportunity outside of the company. With this transition, Sushant Dash will join Tata Starbucks as CEO Designate effective April 1, 2021 and take over as CEO on May 1, 2021,” the company said in a statement.

The company has experienced immense growth, entered new cities, opened new store formats, and contributed in numerous social impact initiatives and innovative product offerings under his leadership.

Sunil D’Souza, MD and CEO, Tata Consumer Products Ltd., mentioned, “Navin has made significant contributions to the Tata Starbucks business in India, stepping up expansion and enhancing the customer experience. We remain committed to growing the Tata Starbucks business and brand and are happy to bring in Sushant, with his strong marketing, operational and leadership experience to spearhead the next phase of growth.”

Sushant is currently working as the President of Packaged Beverages Business in India, Bangladesh and Middle East at Tata Consumer Products. He was in the core team when Tata Starbucks opened its first Indian store back in 2012, and was directly responsible for the strategy and marketing of the brand in the country, as per the company.
