Onitsuka Tiger has announced the opening of the world’s largest global flagship store in Shinjuku, Tokyo, on July 10, 2026. Designed by Studio Dini Cataldi based in Milan, Italy, the store is built around the concept of a “vertical narrative”, blending materials, colours, and the design cultures of Japan and Italy. Each floor presents a different selection of materials and aesthetics, guiding visitors through a spatial experience that unfolds the brand’s story.
From the façade to the sophisticated, serene space on the top floor, each level expresses Onitsuka Tiger’s unique identity by blending Japanese craftsmanship, an homage to Italian design, and the energy of the modern city. This creates a cohesive architectural experience that carries the brand’s heritage into the future.

The exterior features a bold, Tiger-Yellow concrete façade, conceived as a monolith standing within the urban landscape. By combining smooth surfaces with striped textures, the design conveys a sense of integrity in materials, rhythm, and precision — a tribute to Japanese artisanal excellence and Tokyo’s vibrant urbanity. This yellow façade stands as a new landmark in Shinjuku, setting the stage for the journey that awaits within.
Spanning four floors and 1,837 square meters, the store unites the entire brand portfolio under one roof: Heritage, a modern reinterpretation of the archives from Onitsuka Tiger; Contemporary, showcasing collections from Milan Fashion Week from ONITSUKA TIGER; and Formality, featuring the brand’s formal footwear category from THE ONITSUKA.

The first floor welcomes visitors with an interplay of bold materials and colours. The combination of black flooring and warm Giallo Siena marble expresses the brand’s signature palette with both dynamism and sophistication. The essential lines and tactile surfaces reflect the aesthetic of Japanese design, while the black-and-yellow contrast creates a modern, vibrant atmosphere.
The second floor reveals a more graphic aesthetic, anchored by black terrazzo with a distinctive grainy texture, accented with touches of yellow. Light lends rhythm and depth to the space, evoking the movement at the brand’s core. In the area dedicated to the globally acclaimed NIPPON MADE series, furniture inspired by 1970s Italian design is featured.

The third floor is a space filled with tranquillity and refinement, inspired by the quiet elegance of Japanese interiors. The use of Rosso Lepanto marble, satin brass, and fine-brushed stainless steel creates a refined contrast of materials. Geometric forms harmonise with gallery-like displays, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the brand’s iconic collections.
The mezzanine introduces the brand’s first-ever amusement area, offering an exclusive retail experience.

As Onitsuka Tiger continues to position its stores as places where visitors can experience the brand's values and story, this new store embodies both heritage and innovation. As the brand's largest global flagship store, bringing together all its categories under one roof, it offers a new brand experience to visitors from around the world.
