Designed by architect Mukesh Bhatia of SSB Architects, Panghat’s new flagship store in Delhi offers a curated wedding shopping experience with dedicated sections for bridal wear, sarees, festive collections, trousseau, and menswear.

Panghat, the Kolkata-born ethnic wear brand renowned for its bridal and festive couture, has announced the launch of its Delhi flagship store in Pitampura. Spanning 15,000 square feet across five levels, the store marks Panghat's fifth retail outpost in India and its most ambitious space yet, bringing the brand's heritage of craftsmanship to one of the country's most prominent hubs for premium Indian wear.

esigned by architect Mukesh Bhatia of SSB Architects, the five-floor flagship has been designed to offer a dedicated shopping experience for every stage of the wedding journey, from trousseau and occasion wear to bridal couture, groom's wear, and an extensive saree gallery. Wedding wear remains the centrepiece of the store's offering, alongside curated selections in festive apparel and menswear. Select pieces have been created exclusively for the Pitampura store, including a range of high-couture sarees and designs unavailable at any other Panghat location. The store also offers a full suite of customer services, including size and colourcustomisation, bridal consultation and personal styling, all part of Panghat's effort to bring a personalised, couture-level experience to every customer.

To celebrate the launch, Panghat hosted Panghat Darbar that evening, an event that brought together members of the media, creators, celebrities, and patrons of Indian fashion to mark the brand's expanded presence in Delhi and celebrate the enduring beauty of India's textile and craft traditions.

Speaking to Retail4Growth, Anand Saraf, Director & Brand Owner, Panghat, shared that the brand’s retail journey has been built on decades of craftsmanship expertise. “Panghat was founded in Kolkata in the early 1990s. For many years, we were working behind the scenes through our white-label business, manufacturing for multiple brands and designers across India. Since we are based out of Kolkata, we have always been deeply connected with craftsmanship and hand embroidery traditions,” he said.

Panghat entered retail in 2018 with the launch of its first store in Kolkata, followed by Jaipur (2019), a second Kolkata store (2022), Surat (2023), and now its Delhi flagship in 2026. The brand works with some of India's finest weaving and embroidery traditions, including Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Patola and Bandhani weaves, alongside handcrafted techniques such as Zardozi, French Knot and Lucknowi embroidery.

While many fashion brands are increasingly moving towards digital-first models, Panghat continues to focus strongly on experiential retail. “Currently, we are very much offline-focused because the kind of products we offer require touch and feel. When someone is investing ₹3-5 lakh in a wedding outfit, the experience of seeing, feeling and customising the product is extremely important. Online is available, but the kind of personalised experience we want to offer comes through our physical stores,” Anand said.

The Delhi flagship took approximately six to eight months to complete, with the interiors developed to match the brand’s vision of a heritage-inspired yet contemporary retail space.
