Retail Technology Conclave 2015 focuses on Retailing in the Digital Era

The conclave organised by Retailers Association of India was designed to facilitate retailers comprehend and adapt the fast changes in technology for the benefit of their businesses as well as consumers.

The Retailers Association of India (RAI), the body for small, independent and large retail businesses in India, hosted a two-day event on June 17 and 18 at Mumbai titled Retail Technology Summit 2015 (ReTechCon) on the theme'Retailing in the Digital Era.'
 
The'Retail Technology Conclave' aimed at sharing knowledge on the technology aspect of the retail business and started with an inaugural address by B.S. Nagesh, Chairman, RAI and Founder, Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN).
 
Speaking on the theme of the conference, Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, RAI said, "Technology is changing all around us. And it is transforming business as we know it on a daily basis. For leaders, merely knowing how to run a retail business will not be enough anymore, unless they can demonstrate an ability to use technology creatively to offer consumers what they need. In a world being transformed by technology, not just CEOs or CTOs/CIOs, but heads of every function including marketing, supply chain and customer service also need to know how their business can use e-commerce, click & collect, endless aisles, mobile CRM, payment solutions, analytics & digital marketing to their advantage. ReTechCon provided the ideal platform to learn about all this and more, preparing retailers for retailing in the digital era.”
 
The CEO panel on "Retailing in the Digital Era” had Sadashiv Nayak, CEO, Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar & FBB (Future Group); Latif Nathani, VP & MD, eBay India; Damodar Mall, CEO, Grocery Retail, Reliance Retail Limited; Kenny Shin, Director & CEO, Shop CJ Network Pvt Ltd. and Sameer Parwani, Founder & CEO, Coupon Dunia discussing challenges and opportunities leaders face when leading the organization into the future.
 
The summit also featured other panel discussions on key issues like 'Technologies that are redefining customer experience'; 'Innovative Marketing in the Digital world'; 'Hopping on the retail e-wagon: How technology improves the sustainability of the retail value chain' and 'Seamless Omnichannel Experience: The New Normal.'
 
At the event, RAI also released two knowledge reports:
•         2015 India Retail e-Marketing Research - Retail Marketing Initiatives that Work by Octane in association with RAI
•         Retailing in the Digital Era by PwC
