Spencer's Retail opens new store at BT Road, Kolkata

Spencer's Retail launched yet another hyperstore at BT Road in North Kolkata to meet the requirements of the citizens in the area. The new outlet is spread across 25,000 sq.ft, where customers will initially have 15,000 choices. This will be the seventh Spencer's hyperstore in Kolkata, making it the biggest concentration of Spencer's stores in the country.
 
Shashwat Goenka, Sector Head of Spencer's Retail, shares, "Organised retail is geared for a very healthy growth in 2015.  We plan to fully support the make-in-India policy of the Government and back it up with a make-in-Bengal strategy, which means agricultural products from Bengal, as also fruits and fishes, will receive a special push at all Spencer's stores, including in this new one.”

Apart from fruits, vegetables, bakery and grocery, there will be the highly popular fish and meat counters, which are enjoying growing popularity in the city for convenience, cleanliness and competitive price. The BT Road hyperstore will open with 30 varieties of fish. Other categories present at the store include personal care, fashion  and electronics.
