The jewellery brand is particularly focussing on B towns that are contributing to 50% of Tanishq's market share in the eastern region

Tanishq is rapidly expanding its retail footprints across the Eastern region with new showrooms in the interior markets. To cater to the specific needs of the regional markets the brand is engaging in intense market studies. With the new launches the brand will add up to 50,000 sq. ft. of retail space within this FY.

On the retail expansions, Rajeshwari Srinivasan, Associate Vice President and Regional Business Head of East, Titan Company Limited, said, "At present we have 28 stores across the Eastern region and within this financial year we are adding 10 more to that. Also, we are launching our'Mia' store by the end of November which is a collection dedicated to the working women. The store will be entirely housing the light gold collection having a very contemporary design with coloured stones. The brand is looking at entering the largely untapped B towns and we just opened a store in Asansol. Also, we are soon launching stores in Gaya, Guwahati and Bokaro.”

Dwaipayan Sen, Regional Business Manager - East, Tanishq, said: "We have already opened four stores and are looking at cities like Silchar, Bokaro, and Asansol, and by March we will open 5-6 more stores as planned. In fact, 50 per cent of our market share comes from the B towns.”

Further, as a tribute to the greatest festival of Bengal and to come closer to the market, Tanishq has also unveiled the exclusive gold jewellery specially crafted to mark the Durga Puja celebrations in the city. Kolkata's most popular Ekdalia Evergreen club will see the idol adorn the specially designed Tanishq jewellery during the five days of the festive period. This gold jewellery crafted for the idol reflects the eternal beauty combined with the empowering nature of Goddess Durga.

Speaking on this unique initiative, she added; "Tanishq continues to celebrate the festive spirit of Durga Puja and carries forward Tanishq's Promise of Purity. We started the association last year and we wish to take forward this tradition yet again this year.  It was a huge challenge for us to create life-size ornaments for the idol. Tanishq aims to drive relevance for gold across consumer categories and life stages and has designed jewellery for Maa Durga keeping the spirit of Durga Puja in mind. All the pieces are handcrafted and customized according to the particular Goddess and Gods”

Revathi Kant, Assistant Vice President, Design & Innovation, Jewellery Division, Titan Company Limited, said, "At Tanishq we believe in extensive research on connecting with the roots of the Indian culture. It is a privilege for us to be involved in the Durga Puja celebrations and adorn the Goddess Durga idol with our jewellery. It took us months of devoted work and research for crafting the jewellery pieces. The jewellery is inspired from the divine and pure lotus flower. We have tried to showcase the purity of Lotus flower in our design for the Goddess. It is crafted in 22 carat pure gold with Jaipur Kundan work re-created with Bengali aesthetics. I am sure it will be a delight to watch the idol adorn this beautiful jewellery."

The Tanishq retail chain currently includes 166 exclusive boutiques in 90 cities, making it India's first and largest jewellery retail store chain.
