The fashion-tech startup is turning Gen Z's everyday ritual of fit checks into a first-of-its-kind paid internship, where 60 Fit-check interns will be selected for 30 NEWME stores across the country.

NEWME, the popular fashion-tech startups built for Gen Z women, has launched the Fit Check Internship, a unique program where each intern is matched to a NEWME store they'll visit weekly, where they'll try new drops before anyone else, shoot social-first content, clock emerging trends before they trend, and hand NEWME real-time intel straight from the fitting room.
Through the two-month programme, the brand will be spending INR 20 Lakhs which will be given to 60 Fit-check interns who will be selected for 30 NEWME stores across the country. Along with the monthly stipend, interns will get ₹5,000 in NEWME shopping credits every month and a full year of free NEWME wardrobe access on top of it all.
Alongside the perks comes real, hands-on experience in retail, trend forecasting, content creation, and community building, the kind that actually goes on a resume. Interns also move through structured learning modules on merchandising, retail operations, and brand building.
"Fashion today doesn't start on a runway but starts in a trial room, in a story, in a group chat," said Sumit Jasoria, Co-founder & CEO, NEWME. Jasoria noted that, “Millions of young consumers are already shaping trends and helping others discover fashion without ever thinking of it as a job. We have built this program to recognize that instinct as a genuine, hireable skill, giving young people a real way into the industry while helping build the next era of community-powered retail.”
High-performing interns can level up to City Style Leads, and the top five will graduate as Fit Check Leads, unlocking a full year of NEWME outfits, features across NEWME's digital channels, campaign collaborations, and a real shot at a full-time career with the brand.
