The Italian fixture manufacturing company’s India unit will soon invest heavily into increasing stocks of MS and aluminium uprights along with bringing in new machines
In a bid to develop its metal fixture facility, Italian retail fixture manufacturing company Gibam plans to invest heavily into metal upright stocks and bringing machinery such as acrylic laser cutting machine and powerpress. Serving brands/retailers like Raymond, ABFRL, Westside, Lifestyle and more, Gibam’s India unit has recently increased human power in their facility in order to step up production.
In an exclusive chat with Retail4Growth, Sudhir Balakrishnan, Managing Director, Gibam India, explained, “The trend in retail fixtures has moved from wooden backpanel to metal uprights. Therefore, we have decided to invest in increased stocks of both aluminium and MS uprights. Since MS is cheaper than aluminium, there’s lot of affinity in the market towards MS, in the metal fixture category. Part of our investment will also go towards bringing in new machinery to make metal manufacturing more competitive.”
