In-Store Asia 2020 set to chart new retail possibilities

The 13th edition of In-Store Asia, scheduled to be held during 23 -25, April, 2020, in Mumbai is all set to bring back the focus on brick and mortar retail while highlighting in-store experience, shopper data and innovative new technology solutions in the retail space.

With the overall retail market in the country projected to be worth $770 billion and with brick-and-mortar retail comprising nearly 98% of the total retail space, India is undoubtedly among the most promising markets with huge potential for richer retail experiences and efficient in-store solutions.

In-Store Asia (ISA), Indian subcontinent’s largest event for the retail community and now part of the Euroshop family, will roll out endless possibilities in store fit-out and design solutions. ISA 2020, scheduled to be held during 23 -25, April, 2020, will focus on retail experience, design, shopper marketing and in-store solution providers. Fixture manufacturing leader Renam is the principal sponsor of the event, while retail lighting major Argo Lighting will sponsor the VM&RD Awards, 2020.

In-Store Asia 2020: The Expo

In-Store Asia, biggest retail expo in Indian subcontinent and now part of the Euroshop family, had approximately 150 exhibitors and close to 10,000 visitors in its previous edition in 2019. In the coming edition, the expo size is set to get bigger with more space and more number of exhibitors participating. With the Euroshop legacy and backed by an experience of more than a decade, In-Store Asia is tuned to the needs and demands of the retail industry. The coming 13th edition of ISA will focus on bringing back latest brick -and-mortar solutions while expanding the Tech Village, a dedicated space inside the expo that showcases retail technology solutions) focusing specially on retail technology.

In-Store Asia 2020: The Convention

In-Store Asia, 2020 will also bring meaningful conversations on retail design, execution and brick-and-mortar business in the form of a 2-day-long conference. Given the exciting new opportunities in shopper data and given its huge scope in India’s physical/phygital retail, the theme of the convention this year is, ‘Store-Ing: In the Age of Shopper Data’.
The convention last year had close to 50 speakers from retail brands like Macy’s, Tata Trent, Bestseller, Blackberrys, Jockey, Good Earth, Sleep Number, Mondelez and many more, besides research agencies, store fitout vendors and retail designers.

In-Store Asia 2020: The VM Challenge

Another highlight of ISA is the VM Challenge, a one of a kind window display contest for the VM community of India’s retail industry. Six teams come out to “play” the competition and put up their respective window representations based on the on-spot disclosure of subject and specifications. The winning teams are awarded at the prestigious VM&RD Awards ceremony.

The theme for the 2020 edition will be disclosed at the venue on April 24, 2020.
VM Challenge 2019 had 6 teams and 42 participants from 15+ companies with the theme being ‘Saree in Workforce’ and the sponsors for the same were Taneira (Tata’s saree retailing venture) and HP.

In-Store Asia 2020: The VM&RD Awards

The biggest highlight of ISA, the VM&RD Awards is the most prestigious award show for the retail design and visual merchandising communities. Covering 22 varied categories, the VM&RD Awards is backed by a transparent judging and robust process done by a specially curated jury consisting of senior professional from the design fraternity. VM&RD Awards 2019 received 321 entries from 97 companies, across 22 categories and had 26 Jury Members from India and overseas. Totally 65 awards were given.

For the 2020 edition, the Awards will see a bigger jury panel and higher participation.
