A green initiative

Sri Lanka's famous shopping destination Odel designed its instore display to spread environmental awareness globally. It commemorated world environment day by obtaining its theme from UNEP's challenge towards Small Island Developing States and Climate Change. The instore display creates a visual effect towards a greener and a better earth to live in.


To spread the theme across the store, placards and posters were used with headings like “Save our beaches” and “Keep it clean”.


The whole effort to showcase love towards mother earth was done by the dynamic usage of props. A pink mannequin was covered with green water or coldrink bottles and bottle caps. The message behind this was to spread awareness on the harmful effects of littering. A fibre globe was put up with green spray painting on it which accentuated the ‘green’ concept at Odel.


An 18 feet high mannequin was draped with natural substances picked up from the beach. This was done to enhance the theme.The entire display was given a rustic island look with an addition of natural el
