Metro Shoes plans to open 400 stores in the next two years

Kolkata, April 2013 - Metro Shoes celebrates the opening of its fifth store in Kolkata. The store has an area of 1568 sq. ft.and hosts over 100 pairs of new designs every week. It is currently the largest fashion footwear retailer in the domestic market having a well thought-out strategy and an aggressive expansion plan to reach to a mark of 400 plus showrooms by March 2014 with a turnover crossing Rs.10 billion. Currently they operate out of 200+ stores in over 55+ cities. With the introduction of Metro Accessories it hopes to garner a larger share of market in the consumer fashion accessories and footwear space.

The newly inaugurated store stocks more than 10,900 pairs of ladies', men's and kid's shoes. To celebrate the opening, Metro Shoes announced a 20% discount on all in-house brands and 10% discount on international brands like Florsheim, Lee Cooper, Red Tape, Bulchee, Fila, Franco Leone & Ganuchi. As in all Metro Shoes stores, the product range is customized to fit local tastes and fashion trends. Men's shoes are priced from Rs. 1090 onwards while ladies' shoes start from Rs. 590 onwards. Metro Shoes also houses men's and women's accessories such as handbags, wallets, belts and shoe care products ranging from Rs. 300.
