Operating from a 2.5 lakh sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Akola, Maharashtra, the company plans to strengthen its turnkey capabilities while building a stronger presence in the organised retail sector.

Nexus The Store, a leading manufacturer of interior solutions for the retail, commercial, hospitality, and healthcare sectors, is looking to deepen its focus on turnkey retail projects and organised retail chains as part of its next phase of growth.
Founded in 2014, Nexus The Store has evolved from a fixture manufacturer into a one-stop retail solution provider, offering both manufacturing capabilities and end-to-end retail infrastructure execution. The company has worked with leading brands and businesses including Reliance Industries, Aditya Birla Group, Wellness Forever, Ultratech, and several regional retail businesses.
Integrated Manufacturing Capability
Nexus The Store operates from a 2.5 lakh sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Akola, where it manufactures metal fixtures, modular furniture, acrylic displays, signage, and related retail infrastructure products under one roof. According to Darshay Dhoot, Owner of Nexus The Store, the integrated setup allows the company to maintain better control over quality and pricing.
“In our industry, manufacturers usually depend on different vendors for woodwork, signage, or acrylics,” he says. “What differentiates us is that we have metal, wooden, acrylic, and signage manufacturing under one roof. Clients don’t need to go to multiple vendors.”
Nexus also houses a 43,000 sq. ft. display studio showcasing mock retail setups, including supermarkets, apparel and medical stores, allowing clients to visualise solutions across different retail formats before execution.
Strengthen Turnkey Retail Solutions
Over the last year, the company has expanded beyond fixture manufacturing and started executing turnkey retail projects. One of its recent projects included a 1.5 lakh sq. ft. apparel showroom in Amravati, where Nexus handled interiors, fixtures, signage, electrical work, and exterior elements.
“We supplied everything from fixtures and signage to lighting and pathway poles,” Darshay explains. “The complete project was handled in-house.”
Darshay also mentions that supermarket shelving and apparel display systems currently form a major part of the company’s business. “Shelving is one of our strongest product categories,” he says. “Because we have both metal and wooden manufacturing setups, we are very competitive in pricing.”
The company is witnessing increasing demand from regions like Nagpur, Raipur, Sambhaji Nagar, and Nanded, while larger projects occasionally come from other parts of the country.

Challenges Beyond Manufacturing
Despite its manufacturing scale, Darshay believes businesses operating from non-metro locations continue to face challenges while approaching large corporate clients. “The biggest challenge for us is location perception,” he explains. “When corporate companies hear that we are based in Akola, connectivity becomes a concern, even though we can offer competitive pricing and faster execution.”
But he also adds that operating from a smaller city also gives the company an advantage in terms of lower operational costs, allowing it to remain competitive in pricing.
Growth Outlook
Looking ahead, Nexus The Store plans to strengthen its turnkey capabilities while building a stronger presence in the organised retail sector. “We don’t want to be just a fixture supplier,” Darshay adds. “Our goal is to become a company that can completely execute and build retail spaces for brands.”
