Paul Smith opens an artistic outlet in Kolkata

Britain's foremost designer Paul Smith has recently announced the opening of the brand's new retail outlet in Quest Mall in Kolkata. The new store provides an artistic, engaging and exciting environment to shoppers, showcasing the latest Paul Smith creations for men, stocking key pieces from PS by Paul Smith, Paul Smith London, Paul Smith Jeans, shoes and accessories collections.

The store's distinctive exterior has a rendered façade decorated with wooden fins that have edges painted with contrasting shades to create a striking gradient effect when viewed from the side. Inside, playful use of colour continues as neutral shades of taupe are punctuated with signature pops of bright red, while a curated collection of interesting, vintage furniture and unique design lends an eclectic feel to the décor.

A striking art wall - comprising geometric prints made up of photographs taken by Paul himself are split across four frames to form an artistic grouping - has been placed behind a bold, black, steel counter, creating an intriguing focal point for the shop.

An eye-catching light pink rendered wall wraps around the shop at different levels, finished with oak detailing. Towards the rear of the shop, pieces are displayed on steel fittings and teak boxes, while smaller leather goods and accessories can be found in a beautiful oak and brass cabinet. As a contrast to the elegant interior, further flashes of red have been incorporated into these fittings. Atop an elegant Italian dining table with an appealing lacquered blue top is a stunning Fifties-style angled branch in vibrant, multi-coloured shades. This colour scheme is carried through to a British wooden stacking chair, re-upholstered in a complementary blue leather, creating a warm and sophisticated environment for the shoppers.
