PepsiCo decides to invest more on its snack plant in Uttar Pradesh

The company plans on increasing its investment from 500 crore to 814 crore at the manufacturing unit in UP, creating jobs and enhancing the local sourcing ecosystem; ahead of festive season.

The food and beverages giant, PepsiCo plans to increase its investment at the forthcoming greenfield snacks manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh.  The company decides to invest 814 crore in the manufacturing unit, creating more jobs and enhancing the local sourcing ecosystem.

Undeterred by the on-going situation, the brand decides to double the snacks business in the country. It has also planned to expand the capacity of its good plants at Maharashtra and West Bengal; and is also looking for an extra greenfield manufacturing facility in Assam.

Ahmed ElSheikh, India President, PepsiCo,  exclaimed, “While there has been some short-term headwinds due to Covid-19, we at PepsiCo are extremely optimistic about the future and are committed to provide consumers the right portfolio of products across food and beverages. The company has emerged as one of the largest food and beverage companies in the county in 30 years of its establishment in India and is looking to build further”
