Blinkit says its platform now offers delivery of laptops, monitors, and printers within 10 minutes, expanding its electronics range. So what does this mean for brick and mortar retailers in the category?

The buzz around quick commerce has just gotten louder with platform Blinkit, owned by Zomato, expanding its 10-minute delivery offerings. Reports talk about Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa announcing that the company's latest round of offerings for quick delivery would include electronics — ranging from laptops, to monitors, and printers. The service will reportedly be available to residents of metro cities.
Dhinda reportedly wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “You can now get laptops, monitors, printers and more delivered in 10 minutes! We're expanding our electronics range to cover more use cases and have partnered up with leading brands in this category.”
Meanwhile, the parent company Zomato also announced its entry into the quick delivery space for a list of food options.
This was reportedly in response to Swiggy launching a 10-minute food delivery app ‘Bolt’, saying it would expand the business to key markets in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and towns.
Does this mean that it’s not just Kiranas but brick and mortar retailers across other categories should be concerned too? Or get into strategic partnerships with quick commerce players?
