Rigid timeline, cost-effectiveness and quality go hand-in-hand with rapid rollout

The panel discussion on “Managing Scale of Rollouts” brought key professionals from Future Group, Reliance Brands and ethnic brand Neeru’s to decode how differently do India’s largest retailer, host of some of the ace international brands and one of India’s fastest growing ethnic brand think, when it comes to managing rapid store scaling.

On day-1 of 11th edition of In-Store Asia, the panel discussion titled, “Managing Scale of Rollouts”, moderated by Jayant Kochar, Retail Strategy Consultant and Leadership mentor, Go Fish and attended by Vaibhav Parab, Chief – Projects (Strategic Design cell), Future Group, Rohit Patra, Head – Projects, Reliance Brands and Avnish Kumar, Director, Neeru’s, discussed the challenges and solutions of rapid store rollout that every brands and retailer is going through today.

Patra explained on the right balance of cost, timeline and quality fitouts and execution while betting big on Indian fit-out partners. In line with his opinion, Parab stressed on the importance of a good back-up plan in terms of materials, standardizations and execution. He also indicated the challenges pertaining to resources in smaller and some of the obscure towns where retail rollout is still uncommon. Avnish, being part of a mono brand, spoke of the importance of creating a retail identity and how that prepared them for massive rollouts in spite of having to create different store experiences for different demographies.
