Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers on an expansion spree in Kolkata

Kolkata-based Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers plans to launch three flagship outlets in Kolkata before the Durga Puja this year. The retail player which has its flagship showroom at Rash Behari Avenue, near Triangular Park, in Kolkata, began its journey from Dhaka, Bangladesh, following Partition and relocated to Agartala in Tripura before eventually dropping anchor in Kolkata.






On the occasion of the outlet's new Ramdhanu Collection launch, Rupak Saha, Director of the jewellery house, said, "We started in the year 1960 and at that time our retail showrooms were mainly present in Tripura. At present we have four outlets in Agrtala, one in Kolkata and another in Mumbai. In the coming two-three months we are opening three more flagship stores in Kolkata at Behala, Salt Lake and Barasat respectively. Apart from this we have plans to take this brand to other parts of the country as well by expanding our retail footprint. As a wholeseller of gold we supply yellow gold jewellery to various MBOs like Gitanjali and Malabar Gold.”

The jewellery house launches a new collection every quarter. Saha added: "The new Ramdhanu Collection will be available in all our stores and it is inspired by the women of today. The designs are very contemporary.”
