An immersive space to imagine that dream home

This Experience Centre of Bangalore based interior design firm The KariGhars redefines a conventional showroom by being a space for realistic mockups and showcase of ideas that can immerse and transport the customers.
At a time when the term ‘Experience Centre’ has become synonymous with showroom, there’s no limit to what can be showcased in an aesthetically curated brick and mortar space – whether it is about selling products, services or simply ideas. This was essentially the driving factor behind the Experience Centre of Bangalore based interior design firm The KariGhars.
Conceived as a space where customers could experience and visualise their dream home, 8000 sq ft KariGhars showroom located in HSR Layout, Bangalore, has tastefully created mockups and spatial segments that bring alive home spaces – from the drawing room and dining room to the bedroom and kitchen -- while also displaying their products.
As Abhishek Chadha, Founder - The KariGhars, says, speaking about the Experience Centre, “I envisioned this as a retail concept for our residential designs, which would not only showcase our products but also enable our customers to feel like they are in a home space. This is the biggest showroom of its kind in Bangalore.”
Aashita Chadha, Co-Founder - The KariGhars, adds, further explaining the reasons behind the setting up of theExperience Centre, “When our business grew and our team expanded, we realised we needed more space not onlyfor our internal use, but also for more customer interactions. Also, in the interior design segment, trust is a very critical factor and customers’ trust can be meaningfully gained only when they get a tactile experience of what you have to offer in a physical space. So that was the concept behind this Experience Centre. The space actually speaks for itself in terms of conveying what we stand for and getting the attention of the customer.”
The space essentially redefines a conventional showroom through thoughtfully designed clusters of realistic setups that resonate with customers, providing them with a sensory experience of materials, finishes, and items. Thus, aesthetic elements such as light fixtures, wall hangings, and tabletop decorations are all integrated with each segment of space, like an office, living room, bedroom, or dining area, to enable visitors to visualize the space in totality.
Also, as Ashita shares, the Experience Centre also caters to the company employees as a space that can inspire their creativity and imagination.
The entire Experience Centre is thus divided into office space, display space and mockup space, devised as “a conceptualized reality of 2 BHK home” as the company calls it. There are also enough points for customer engagement and interactions. For example, a small mood board area has been set up where customers can interact with designers on material choices and visualize spaces by exploring a wide range of elements.
Besides, there are tech enabled interfaces for virtual walk-throughs and other immersive experiences. “We are a technology driven company; we use a lot of back-end and front-end technology to enhance both the efficiency of our processes and the customer experience,” says Abhishek talking about use of technology in the space. Aashita further adds in this context, “2024-25 is going to be the year of technology for us. We are already in talks with many vendors in this space and exploring different tech solutions that can match our business requirements.”
The company is also planning to expand and take the Experience Centre concept to other cities like Hyderabad.
