Pothys unveils a glittering store-front in Nagercoil

Pothys, a popular chain of textile showrooms in South India, recently unveiled one of the biggest shopping destinations in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. Spread over nine floors across 1.5 lakhs square foot of retail space, the store stands out as a spectacular landmark in the vicinity through its full building height store front signage installation that was developed and installed by Sinex Systems.

Badri Narayan, Managing Director of Sinex Systems Pvt. Ltd. explains, “The client gave a requirement for the logo to be lit on the full height of front facia without the use of  Flex and Vinyl. We suggested Acrylic / Plexiglas as the alternate solution. During the execution of the project the main challenge was handling and installing breakable materials like Acrylic/Plexiglas to the back structure. To minimise joints in the Plexiglas, we had to source bigger size sheets like 2050mm x 3050mm and as Sinex has one of the largest Laser Cutting Machine (2.5m x 6m ) it came handy to cut these sheets. We have installed façade signage for 5 to 6 Pothy stores, but this one is a one-of-a-kind backlit Plexiglas signage.”

The Signage size is 30 feet (height) x 23 feet (width). For easy handling and transportation the entire signage framework was designed and  composed of light Aluminium sections that were assembled on site. The turnkey solution took 30 days from the date of design to installation at site. The signage is completely lit with Samsung Green 0.75 watts led for the background. Borders and Letter ‘P’ are lit with the Samsung 1.25 watts with the use of about 15,000 modules.
