Foodbox started with a vision of its founder, Satish Chamyvelumani, who wanted good wholesome food to be made available to people on the move, at convenient locations. Satish is a first generation entrepreneur and the man behind Atchayam's Foodbox. He holds an MBA degree in Global Enterprise Management from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford, Connecticut, USA and is also an MS in Manufacturing Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark. He states the Foodbox commitment, "We achieve the 90-second delivery through supply chain innovation and technological enablement. Foodbox works with multiple restaurants within the city and retails through fully automated restaurants."

Customers get improved access to high quality foods from the local restaurants which they trust and restaurants are able to reach newer markets without additional capital. This is achieved by bringing freshly packed food from the restaurant partners and making them available to customers through conveniently located and operated'automated restaurants.
The restaurant partners cook and pack the food they would like to sell and transport them to Foodbox outlets, manned and run by Foodbox, for sale at their preferred time slot. From the customers standpoint they experience fully self-serviced store for a quick food pickup - a variety of brands, takeaway-friendly packaging and the convenience of purchasing food in 2 minutes, at about the same price as restaurant retail.
Partnering with Foodbox brings in a bundle of tools to help enhance a restaurant's sale activity - an ERP system to monitor sales live, high quality packaging material, a packaging station complete with heat sealers and an inventory management tool to track supplies. All these allow restaurants to react in real time to the demands of the marketplace.
The automated stores are moving towards becoming completely unmanned. They carry an automated retrieval system (ARS) for storage plus retrieval of food and a touch sensitive point-of-sale (POS). Foodbox allows their restaurant partners to do what they do best but propel traditional dining to a new level. The stores are the pit-stop for the burgeoning class of people on the move.
