Harpreet Singh, Deputy CEO & COO at Radiowalla Network Limited, shares with Retail4Growth, the dynamics of what makes a digital signage truly effective for a retail client, and why the future of digital signage lies in intelligent screen networks that provide measurable business value.
It is one thing to have a digital signage screen in place, and another to have the right content running on it, powered by intelligent software capable of driving ROI for the investment. This is where the right partner makes a difference, and this is also where the opportunity lies for digital signage software companies equipped with the right capability.
As Harpreet Singh, Deputy CEO & COO at Radiowalla Network Limited, says while sharing how the company, which is focused on helping brands manage large, distributed screen networks through a single platform, zeroed in on its solution, “We observed that brands were increasingly deploying screens across multiple locations but struggled with managing content, ensuring uptime, adapting content for different screen resolutions and measuring campaign delivery.”
For Radiowalla the opportunity thus lay in offering a solution that addresses these challenges. It was done through a centrally managed digital signage platform that enables clients to control content across locations, schedule campaigns, monitor screens, and access reporting. As Harpreet explains, “At Radiowalla, we are continuously enhancing our digital signage capabilities through improvements in our cloud-based CMS, remote monitoring, and analytics. Our focus is on helping brands manage large, distributed screen networks through a single platform, with greater control over content, scheduling, and reporting.”
He points out that for brands with large networks, this reduces operational complexity while providing greater consistency and visibility.
How a jewellery brand scaled its screen network
Harpreet cites the example of a jewellery brand as a case study to highlight how a jewellery brand expanded their network from 50 odd screens to 200+ while managing the screen content seamlessly across locations.
“Before onboarding us, they were managing it directly and found it extremely difficult to get any content rolled out on time given the complexity of handling multiple resolutions, playout platforms and logistics of managing the content across different stores. Now their content changes happen absolutely seamlessly and our services get aligned with every store opening as a part of the SOP,” he explains.”
He also talks about how the company helped an e commerce company manage internal communication seamlessly across 200+ locations across India with different language and site-specific content being handled centrally.
The bottom line is this: offer a solution that helps the client leverage their digital screen for best results with zero or minimal pain points.
What makes for a good Digital Signage software?
When asked about the key components of a digital signage software that buyers should look for, Harpreet answers unequivocally, “A good digital signage platform should go beyond simply playing content on a screen.”
He further lists down the key components:
- Cloud-based content management and scheduling.
- Remote device monitoring and management.
- Support for multiple formats and screen types.
- Real-time reporting and analytics.
- Scalability across locations.
- Security, reliability, and integration capabilities.
“The real differentiator is ease of use, reliability, and the ability to manage a large network efficiently. The software should reduce operational effort while giving brands greater control and visibility,” Harpreet adds.
Harpreet is also very sure that digital signage is evolving towards networks that are not just capable of displaying content; but can also provide measurable business value. And this is also where the company is anchoring its vision. As Harpreet sums up “Our broader objective is to build integrated customer engagement solutions that combine digital signage, audio, analytics, fragrances and AI-driven capabilities.”
