Cocoon Fine Rugs opens new gallery in Kolkata

Cocoon Fine Rugs has unveiled its third retail destination in the country, on Pretoria Street in Kolkata, the two other galleries being in Mumbai and Bengaluru. The new gallery in Kolkata is housed in a heritage colonial building known as Aspirations Vintage that was home to the Japanese Consulate. The old world charm, rich history and accessibility make it an ideal location for a luxury brand like Cocoon Fine Rugs.

Ayush Choudhary, Founder & Creative Director, Cocoon Fine Rugs, said: "The store has been designed by Chaitali Parikh who's an alumnus of the prestigious Parsons School of Design, New York, and has also designed the brand's galleries in Mumbai and Bengaluru. This design is an extension of the façade which has a colonial charm and we have chemically treated the walls to preserve the vintage look. Spread over 1,840 sq. ft, this space has been given a Manhattan loft and the office space is all upstairs giving it a feel of a gallery as one walks in.”

He added, "This Gallery brings to Kolkata and its connoisseurs an eclectic selection of fine rugs to choose from. Our uniqueness lies in contemporary designs and we have different Signature Collections like Colours of Life, The Bombay, Patchwork, Sari Exotica, Leather Luxe and many more that will be showcased along with new festive introductions across all the galleries. Our main TA are the architects and interior designers, and we also have a niche clientele who all has got a great aesthetic sense.  Each gallery has a special design team that educates a customer and enable them to select a piece that will be seamlessly integrated in the décor of their home or second home. Cocoon Fine Rugs will also have a specialised service where one can customise their rugs as per their requirements - size, colour, shape or design. We also have got hand crafted collection of rugs that is titled Superluxe and this collection is inspired by opulent fabrics and texture sand which is an ode to the culturally rich history of Kolkata.”

The brand is soon going online and in terms of physical stores the next line ups are Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Jaipur for Cocoon Fine Rugs.
