The Rose, promoter of Dhansiri, plans to open four more outlets in this state and one each in Siliguri and Durgapur

Subrata Das, Director, The Rose, shares, "We wanted to combine the romanticism of Bengali poetry with our food. The inspiration from the iconic poem of Jibanananda Das transcends from the very name into all facets of this distinctive 60 cover restaurant - from the interiors to the food and even in the menu which curiously turns lines from his poems into the names of the food and makes the regular "Ilish Bhaja†into the poetic "Mor Polatoka Priya Ilish Bhaja†and plain steamed rice becomes "Khoi Ronga Shada Bhaatâ€. The categories are described not simply as starters or fish but "Ihara Amay Bhalobasheâ€, "Machher Moton Ami Cholitechhi Jaal Chhinreâ€, "Dighir Joler Gondhe Rupali Chitol†and "Dhoya Otha Bhaat, Kothay Giyechhe Shob†and such.â€

Props like the table mats are another conversation starter, the use of short poems or "chhora†creates a nostalgic feel for the Bengalis who are brought up on a healthy dose of these. The evocative poems are the rhymes one learns as a child from grandmothers, aunts and mother.
Das further informs, "City Centre I has been a very natural choice for Dhansiri. The Rose chain of restaurants has been satiating the food lovers of Kolkata for over 15 years with four other outlets operating in different parts of the city serving a variety of cuisines, from Chinese, North Indian to European and Mughlai. For Dhansiri, our aim is to launch four more outlets in this state with two in the southern part of Kolkata and outside the metro city we are planning one each in Siliguri and Durgapur. After this, immediately our next F&B project is coming up at Kankurgachi in the city where we will be launching six fine-dining restaurants serving six different types of cuisine.â€
