Hyundai Motor is gearing up to bring experiential retail experience and high level digital interface in all its car showrooms under Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) concept by 2018.

Auto major Hyundai Motors will bring all its showroom designs in India under its global retail design benchmark Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) by 2018. The mandate means that all existing Hyundai Showrooms will adopt GDSI and new ones will be developed under the design compliances accredited by GDSI.

Puneet Anand, General Manager and Group Head – Marketing, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, told, “GDSI is a retail design concept developed globally for all Hyundai showrooms. This concept will focus on more technological interface, consumer experiences and satisfaction. Digital interface will be taken to a level where a whole showroom can function without paper. That means, the consumers will not only get introduced to new car models, all new features and 360 degree view of cars at digital kiosks but the process of booking and buying cars will happen online. Going forward, keeping the retail space constraint in India in mind, we may decide to keep very few car models on display but more experiences and information on offer.” The showrooms will adopt a number of elements inspired by nature to present a clutter-free look along with dedicating spaces as customers’ lounges, kids play area etc.

Awarded with the EEPC award for being the largest exporter of passenger car for the last 11 years, Hyundai launched GDSI concept in mid-2014 in India. Around 210 Hyundai outlets will be under the concept by end of 2016 while all showrooms will be GDSI-complied by 2018.
