By Sakshi Sanghavi | December 27, 2024

Mayur Salunke, owner of  Keystone Sign Studio , highlights the company’s advancements in LED technology, emphasizing energy efficiency with their pro series LEDs, solar-based brightness control, and innovative digital display solutions

Mayur Salunke, owner of Keystone Sign Studio, shared insights into the company’s advancements in LED technology and its offerings for the digital display industry. Keystone is focusing on enhancing durability, energy efficiency, and audience engagement through cutting-edge innovations, tailored solutions, and interactive features.
Speaking about the company’s latest LED advancements, Mayur explained, “In terms of energy efficiency, we are using the new pro series LED, which has less power and more lumen output. The energy consumption is reduced while providing more light. Additionally, we have devices that are solar control-based, where brightness increases or decreases as needed. For example, at night, we can reduce brightness and further cut energy consumption.”

Learning from global trends

Keystone has been actively incorporating global advancements into its offerings. Mayur highlighted that attending international exhibitions has been instrumental in this process. “These are the technologies being applied in the rest of the world, which we are adopting for our clients,” he said. “This helps us provide economical solutions that bring down energy costs. For instance, with big screens consuming significant power, we help clients understand the savings they can achieve in the long run by using these innovations.”

Challenges and progress with AI

While artificial intelligence is gaining traction in the digital display industry, Mayur noted that its implementation at Keystone is still evolving. “Clients are interested in AI integration for screens that can interact with customers, but it’s still more of an idea than reality right now. We don’t yet have the expertise required to fully translate these concepts into solutions,” he said.
Despite these challenges, Keystone has begun experimenting with AI-related features, particularly for malls looking to create engaging and interactive experiences.

Engaging displays for audience interaction

Keystone’s commitment to innovation is evident in its recent installation in Bangalore. “We are doing one screen that is a transparent display housed in a hollow box with a glass front,” Mayur shared. “When you play audio or video, it creates the illusion of an object moving inside the box, making it appear as if a person or object is inside the display. It’s designed to be engaging and immersive for viewers.”
This project showcases the company’s ability to push creative boundaries and enhance audience interaction with digital installations.

Keystone’s current offerings

Keystone Sign Studio provides a variety of digital display solutions, including outdoor screens, curved screens, and interactive touch panels for malls and retail spaces. The company is also focused on digital wayfinding signage, particularly for malls.
“Tenants in malls often change, so we’ve developed digital wayfinding signage to make content updates easy,” Mayur explained. “Instead of changing physical panels, mall operators can simply update the content digitally. When not in use for navigation, the screens can display ads, turning them into revenue-generating tools.”
Mayur emphasized that Keystone’s focus has shifted from static displays to digital solutions, aligning with the industry’s future direction.

Tackling content challenges

One of the biggest hurdles Keystone faces is ensuring clients provide suitable content for their high-resolution displays. “Content is a major challenge,” Mayur admitted. “Clients often don’t have the right content to play on the screens they order. The resolution requirements are specific, and they need to invest in developing appropriate content rather than just downloading something online.”
To address this issue, Keystone has started hiring UX designers to help clients create high-quality content. “This is something we’re building on, and it’s a focus area for future growth,” Mayur added.

A future focused on digital

Keystone’s commitment to innovation, global learning, and client-centric solutions positions it as a leader in the digital display industry. By tackling challenges like energy efficiency and content creation, while exploring new technologies like AI and immersive displays, the company is shaping the future of digital advertising. As Mayur aptly put it, “The future is digital.”
