Celebrating the ongoing Cricket season and finding a new way to engage with its customers, Shopper Stop created the world’s largest cricket bat which was displayed at Magrath Road Junction (opposite Garuda mall) in Bangalore. Measuring 160 feet in height and 18 feet in width, the cricket bat was autographed by Mithali Raj - Captain of the Indian Women's Cricket Team. An ode to cricket aficionados, this one-of-its-kind cricket bat has been made in a record time of 10 days by the in-house Visual Merchandising team. Over 60 people worked round the clock to construct this enormous structure. Shoppers Stop is set to apply for a mention in the Limca Book of Records. Present at the occasion, Govind Shrikhande, Customer Care Associate & Managing Director, Shoppers Stop Ltd said, “Our focus is to create exciting and engaging experiences for our customers and thereby bring the romance back to retail. The ongoing cricket buzz gave us the perfect opportunity to delight our customers by creating this record-setting world’s largest cricket bat. And who better to celebrate this occasion than the Captain of our beloved Indian Women’s Cricket Team Mithali Raj.”

For the larger-than-life installation, Shoppers Stop conducted a Twitter Contest making its followers to come up with their dream team of 20  cricket players as the T20 season is on across the country. The 20 cricketers selected by the audience, has been listed along with their signatures on the bat. Shoppers Stop will also engage shoppers to sign and write messages for their favourite player or team on the cricket bat.
